After a much anticipated wait, Engine 43 officially returned to Ridge Friday afternoon after a nearly five month rehab stint. Needless to say, we're very glad to see it return home and are eagerly awaiting the chance to finish up the rehab. We still have a few more in house things to complete before it will return to service.
A few of the highlights of the rehab are:
- Line-x of the compartments, which will improve their life and durability, as well as appearance.
- Complete upgrade of all emergency lighting, including a new LED low-profile light bar, as well as a new LED roto-ray
- Halo HID headlights, which are vastly improved over the sealed beam lights that were installed stock
- A new 200W siren speaker under the front bumper
- Paint and gold leaf upgrades/modifications
- Upgraded lights in the interior for the driver
- New perimeter lighting underneath the crew cab
- New work lights in the rear
- New clamps and hardware for the ladder rack, pike pole holders and other areas
- New door handles all the way around, making for easier and safer entry into compartments
An excellent job was done by the committee to complete this job and to PJ's Auto Body for the paint and gold leaf upgrades, as well as Ricky Ward for handling everything emergency related! Keep an eye out here on the website and on the streets for this engine!
