Sunday, October 7, 2012 the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department opened its doors to the community and the Ridge VFD Fire Prevention trailer. All apparatus was on display outside and everything else was in quarters. It was a damp and chilly day with showers off and on, but did not dampen the spirits of the community visitors. There were games for the kids inside and other activies. A bounce inflatable, 911 simulator, a simulated burning house with a hard hose, a fire prevention table display, a safety house, a forced entry commercial door setup, a visit from SPARKY and a turnout gear demonstration kept the visitors busy throughout the day. Cookies and punch were available also. The Ridge fire prevention trailer was set up and gave presentations also throughout the day. Co. 7's junior firemen gave a demonstration of extinguishing a trailer fire in Co. 4's trailer.
Co. 4 members attending were Vice President James Raley, Life members Snookie Raley, Peggy Vallandingham, Auxiliary members Mary Wise, Frieda Franklin and firefighter George Franklin.
