Scotty Fire Prevention Trailer
|
A 2006 Mobile Concepts by Scotty Fire Safety House mobile education classroom. The Trailer was an advanced educational tool for the public. It was a 35' long trailer that included bleacher style classroom seating that accommodates 15-20 students, with a full-size entertainment center and kitchen all in the same room. There was also a large bedroom to be used for teaching how to properly evacuate your room when you hear a smoke detector. The entire Safety House was capable of being filled with "smoke" (non-toxic fake smoke as in fog machines) to simulate poor visibility and how to "stay low" during escape. The Safety House was also equipped to teach our community how to recognize weather warnings and the proper steps to follow in the event severe weather strikes. The "Weather Smart Package" simulation allowed children and adults to experience the most dramatic characteristics of a severe storm (tornados and hurricanes) in a completely safe environment. The Safety House was designed to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements (flat with no interior steps).
