It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
By Board of Directors George Franklin
December 7, 2009
Last Friday night, was a joyous occasion at Company 4. It was the Annual First District Community Tree Lighting. It began with Christmas caroling outside the building in wait for the Fire Engine Parade. With sirens blaring and all the lights a flashing the parade arrived. Command 4, Brush 4, Engine 43, Engine 42, Truck 3 and finally Engine 44 with Santa & Mrs Claus aboard. Santa & Mrs Claus, the Essay winner & Phil Cooper all assisted in switching on the tree lights. The crowd slowly made their way inside for the rest of the events. There was Christmas music provided by the nearby schools, face painting, door prizes, a fire prevention table with handy holiday safety tips and activity books, neighboring alpacas made a visit outside for children to pet and of course Santa & Mrs Claus recieved all of the eagerly awaiting children to take note of their wishes. Refreshments were provided by the Auxiliary. Pictures were taken with the Claus. It was a wonderful evening for all. I would like to thank Mary Franklin for all of the photos she provided, what a wonderful gift to the community.
