Fire Prevention Week activities continued on October 7th and 8th with presentations to some of our locals. Ridge VFD educators hosted Trossbach Family Daycare at the firehouse on the 7th, along with some of our members' families. We then visited Curtain Climbers Daycare on the 8th. The children ranged in ages from 2-5 years old (with a few infants mixed in for good measure). All were super excited to learn about fire safety and receive goodie bags and helmets, but Sparky was the big hit! Educators and Sparky told the kids about the dangers of fire, how to stay safe, and how to get their parents to make an escape plan. They all were treated to fire engine tours. The kids (and grown-ups) were left smiling and a little smarter about fire safety. It's never too early to learn fire safety!
